May 19

When I was a teenager, my father asked me to visit the women in prison in our town. I would not do it because I was so afraid of prisons! Now, since I have been in prison myself, I have no fear. I even like to speak with prisoners because I know how it feels to be behind a door that can only be opened from the outside. But I also know that with Jesus the worst can happen, the best remains, and His light is stronger than the deepest darkness.

Remember those who are in prison, as though in prison with them: and those who are ill-treated, since we also are in the body.
Hebrews 13:3

Lord, thank You that You do not give us a spirit of fear but of power, of love, and a sound mind!
