We have a Father in heaven who is almighty. Trust Him and you will experience miracles. Is your future a friend this morning? Remember that God is in control.

Trust in him at all times, O people
pour out your heart before him
God is a refuge for us
Psalms 62:8

We see Your miracles every day, Father, if we only
open our eyes to them.

We are not called to be burden-hearers, but cross-bearers and light-bearers. We must cast our burdens on the Lord.

Cast your burdens on the Lord
and he will sustain you
he will never permit
the righteous to be moved
Psalms 55:22

Lord, casting our burdens on You makes it possible for us to go our way with gladness, Thank You.

If a care is too small to be turned into a prayer, it is too small to be made into a burden.

Cast all your cares on God! That anchor holds.
—Alfred, Lord Tennyson

Pray at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication . . .
Ephesians 6:18

Remind us that we have the answer to our worries, Father. Give us clear vision about our cares and Your answers.

Somebody said to me: “When I worry I go to the mirror and say to myself. ‘This tremendous thing which is worrying me is beyond a solution. It is especially too hard for Jesus Christ to handle.’ After I have said that, I smile and I am ashamed.”

Have no anxiety about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which passes all understanding, will keep your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
Philippians 4:6-7

Lord, teach me how to smile at my worries. Forgive and cleanse me from my unbelief!

Jesus did not promise to change the circumstances around us. He promised great peace and pure joy to those who would learn to believe that God actually controls all things.

One day, when He shows Himself in full splendor to men, you will be filled with the most tremendous joy . . . you can be sure that God’s Spirit of glory . . . is resting upon you.
1 Peter 4:13-14 *Phillips

Your will be done, Father. Teach us that You, not we, control our lives for our own good.

In ourselves we are not capable of suffering bravely, but the Lord possesses all the strength we lack and will demonstrate His power when we undergo persecution. It makes no difference whether we have great or little power of endurance, or none at all. For Jesus Christ it is the same.

I will all the more gladly boast of my weaknesses, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
2 Corinthians 12:9

Thank You, Lord, that our strength is not important, for Your strength will be demonstrated even in our weakness.

I met a young man who had been a criminal. He told me, “I must go to make restitution. That means I have to go to jail for at least two years.” I asked him, “What must I pray for you?” “Pray that God protects my quiet time and takes away my fears.”

What strength that young man had received from the Lord! How often we refuse to make restitution because it is difficult.

O Lord, I am Your servant; I am Your servant, the son of Your handmaid. You have loosed my bonds.
See Psalms 116:15

Lord, what You ask of us may not be pleasant. We ask only that You give us the faith to follow the path You show us, and the power to obey. If it means restitution, I am willing, Lord.

The strength that we claim from God’s Word does not depend on circumstances. Circumstances will be difficult, but our strength will be sufficient.

. . . how tremendous is the power available to us who believe in God.
Ephesians 1:19 *Phillips

In good times or in bad, You provide us with the strength we need. It comforts us to have such a reserve available for our use, Father.

Gideon was not a very able or strong man, but the Lord was with Gideon, giving him the strength he needed. That is why he was called a mighty man of valor.

And the Lord turned to (Gideon) and said, "Go in this might of yours . . . "
Judges 6:14

Thank You, Lord, that because You are with us, we will have power and strength in the battles that lie ahead, with our weak hand in Your strong hand we stand on victory ground. Halleluiah!

Brother Andrew wrote me:
I traveled in all the Communist countries. One day I stood in Moscow’s Red Square, watching tens of thousands soldiers  marching, singing and shouting, “We are going to conquer the world.”

I stood there alone, and would have been scared if I had not known Scripture. I remembered “Greater is he who is in you than he who is in the world.” That was a good feeling—one man more than the whole Red Army.

Fear not, for I am with you, be not dismayed for I Am your God; I will strengthen you. I will help you. I will uphold you with my victorious right hand.
Isaiah 41:10

Hold Thou my hand, so weak I am and helpless
I dare not take one step without Thine aid
Hold Thou my hand, for then, O loving Saviour
No dread of ill shall make my soul afraid
—Fanny Crosby
