February 29

I am eighty-five years old and I am so thankful that I am able to continue the work I love. God has a plan for every life. All of us are called to be the light of the world wherever He places us. We are within His perfect guidance when we trust and obey Him. A tool does not decide where to work. It is the Master who decides where it is to he used.

For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.
Ephesians 2:10

Lord, we may look forward to retirement from our earthly work, but You will use us wherever You guide us. What a privilege!

February 28

“When I have accepted Jesus as my Saviour, what must I do to grow?” Be filled with the Holy Spirit, join a church where the members believe the Bible and know the Lord, seek the fellowship of other Christians, learn and be nourished by God’s Word and His many promises. Conversion is not the end of your journey—it is only the beginning.

Thy word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my
path.
Psalms 119:105

Lord, thank You that You have provided our spiritual nourishment through Your Spirit, Your Word, the Bible, and through the fellowship of the saints.

February 27

“What happens after I say yes to the Lord?” Then you may claim all of God’s promises in the Bible. Your sins, your worries, your life—you may cast them all on Him,

I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.
John 10:10 KJV

Lord, forgive us that too often we live as beggars, when we are children of the King of Kings and immeasurably rich!

February 26

Conversion is not a blind leap into the darkness. It is a joyous leap into the light that is the love of God.

I am the light of the World; he who follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.
John 8:12

The human side in us fears the unknown, Lord. Give us the faith we need to step out of our dim caves and into Your guiding light.

February 25

“Does going to church regularly make one a Christian?” No, you find there the nourishment you need and the fellowship with other Christians, but it is not where you are that is important but what happens in your heart. A mouse born in a biscuit tin is not a biscuit, and a dog who lives in a garage is no automobile.

If you confess with your lips that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
Romans 10:9

Lord, thank You that I am a Christian because You died on the cross almost two thousand years ago and You could say, “It is finished.” All that needed to be done was done by You. Thank You, thank You, Lord Jesus.

February 24

“How can I become a child of God?” Make a clear-cut decision and say, “Yes, Lord Jesus, come into my heart.” “Is it as simple as that?” It is. Salvation is a gift. You need only accept it and you belong to God, and He to you. All that had to be done was finished by Jesus on the cross.

Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him. . . .
Revelation 3:20 KJV

Thank You, Lord, that I may open the door of my heart. What a joy that You come in!

February 23

Jesus loves you so much that if you were the only person on earth, He would still have been willing to die for you on the cross.

I've found a Friend, O such a Friend
He bled, He died to save me
And not alone the gift of life
But His own self He gave me. . . .
James G. Small

...we have been sanctified through the body of Jesus Christ.
See Hebrews 10:10

Lord Jesus, such love is beyond our understanding. We can only say. “Thank You.”

February 22

When you have heard the Gospel, you have heard the greatest story ever told about the greatest offer ever made, by the greatest Person who ever lived! Do you want to receive this gift of eternal life for which Jesus left heaven and died on the cross?

It was unspeakable love that thought it
It was unspeakable life that bought it
It was unspeakable death that wrought it
There is unspeakable joy where He brought it

In this was manifested the love of God toward us. . . .
1 John 4:9 KJV

Holy Spirit, help me to understand a little more of these wonderful riches.

February 21

When a house is on fire and you know that there are people in it, it is a sin to straighten pictures in that house. When the world about you is in great danger, works that are in themselves not sinful can be quite wrong.

Look carefully then how you walk, not as unwise men but as wise, making the most of the time, because the days are evil.
Ephesians 5:15-16

Lord, open our eyes to the world around us. Use us to warn people and tell them that when we walk hand in hand with You we are safe, even in the midst of a storm, and that there is an eternity to lose or gain.

February 20

There is nothing anybody else can do that can stop God from using us: the fault always lies in ourselves. We can turn everything into a testimony. Even opposition can become an open door.

So it you are offering your gift at the altar, and there remember that your brother has something against you, leave your gift there before the altar and go; first be reconciled to your brother, and then come and offer your gift.
Matthew 5:23-24

Father, when we are free of sin, we can do Your work. When we seem to be ineffective in Your work, move us to reexamine our lives for sin.

February 19

To be used to save souls for eternity is worth suffering and dying. The salvation of the lost should concern us more than our own earthly existence.

By this we know love, that he laid down his life for us; and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.
1 John 3:16

Lord Jesus, please give us Your love and concern for those who are lost.

February 18

When you bring God’s Word to others, you must maintain the horizontal and the vertical connection with both them and the Holy Spirit. Pray in your heart for the guidance, insight, and wisdom you need.

I will give you a mouth and wisdom, which none of your adversaries will be able to withstand or contradict.
Luke 21:15

Lord, thank You for Your presence while we work. By ourselves we are too weak, but Your Spirit makes us able.

February 17

In the work of evangelism we are sent by the same Person, we are sent by the same power, we are sent to the same place, we are sent for the same purpose, as Jesus was. I am glad that here in America and in many other countries there is so much good training material. I mention two organizations, Campus Crusade for Christ and the Navigators, whose material we may always use to help and train others.

I have given you an example, that you also should do as I have done to you.
John 13:15

Lord, open our eyes so that we recognize every opportunity to bring the Gospel. Thank You that by Your indwelling in us, You make us mirrors of Your love.

February 16

Many nations are toppling, and we are linked so closely to them that we could also fall if we do not turn in great throngs to God, imploring Him for mercy in this immediate and alarming crisis.

Show us Your mercy, O Lord, and grant us Your salvation.
See Psalms 85:7 KJV

Father, give us strength to bring Your Word to vast numbers of people. We need more soldiers who believe that Jesus is Victor.
