July 11

We are moons. God is our sun. If the world comes between the moon and the sun, it is dark. The insecurity of the world is meant to be the raw material of our faith. Surrender to the enemy means death, but surrender to Jesus means life. Confess, commit, claim His presence.

. . . be blameless and innocent, children of God without blemish in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world.
Philippians 2:15

Lord Jesus, thank You for Your grace. The world grows more fearsome, but You are our salvation.

There is a hunger in our hearts that is never satisfied, except by Jesus. Do you feel lonesome and hungry? Do you have problems that you can’t solve? Do you feel chased, with no way out? Come to Him.

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.
Romans 15:13

Jesus, thank You that because of Your constant presence, I am never alone. Hold my hand tightly, Lord. Although afflictions may torment me, they can never defeat me.

Let us pray that God will send workers to the harvest fields. They look very ripe. Maybe you are the one who needs to go. Be obedient and follow the Lord’s call. You will never experience real joy if you don’t do the will of the Father. And don’t forget that the Lord specializes in the impossible.

In the center of His will is peace. Ask the Lord’s guidance in obedience. It is possible that where you are now in your home, your office, your job, is the mission field where the harvest has to be reaped. It could be He wants you farther afield. Ask Him what His will is.

May the God of peace . . . equip you with everything good that you may do his will . . .
Hebrews 13:20-21

Thank You, Lord, for Your perfect plan for my life. Make me willing to be made willing to do what You tell me to do.

When I saw Sadhu Sundar Singh in Europe, he had completed a tour around the world. People asked him, “Doesn’t it do harm, your getting so much honor?”

The Sadhu’s answer was: “No. The donkey went into Jerusalem, and they put garments on the ground before him. He was not proud. He knew it was not done to honor him, but for Jesus, who was sitting on his back. When people honor me, I know it is not me, but the Lord, who does the job.”

Worthy art thou, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for thou didst create all things, and by thy will they existed and were created.
Revelation 4:11

Lord, when men honor us for our works, we know that the honor is truly Yours.
