May 25

I met a young man who had been a criminal. He told me, “I must go to make restitution. That means I have to go to jail for at least two years.” I asked him, “What must I pray for you?” “Pray that God protects my quiet time and takes away my fears.”

What strength that young man had received from the Lord! How often we refuse to make restitution because it is difficult.

O Lord, I am Your servant; I am Your servant, the son of Your handmaid. You have loosed my bonds.
See Psalms 116:15

Lord, what You ask of us may not be pleasant. We ask only that You give us the faith to follow the path You show us, and the power to obey. If it means restitution, I am willing, Lord.
