In the concentration camp we
went through the ordeal of being stripped of all our clothing and made to stand
naked for several hours. It was more difficult, more cruel, than anything else
we experienced.
As I stood there, it was
suddenly as if I saw Jesus at the cross. The Bible tells us they took away His
garments and He hung there naked. Through my suffering, I understood a fraction
of the suffering of Jesus, and it made me so happy and thankful that I could
bear my suffering. “Love so amazing, so divine, demands of my soul, my life, my
all.” (Isaac Watts).
And they
crucified him . . .
Matthew
27:35 KJV
Father, when we have to suffer,
show us Jesus at the cross.
